ForgeFX Simulations at ConExpo-ConAgg 2017

Thanks to everyone who visited ForgeFX Simulations at ConExpo - Con/Agg 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada last month. ConExpo is the largest trade show in the United States, and this year's show spanned a record 2.8 million-plus net square feet of exhibits, with a record 2,800+ exhibitors.

130,000 industry professionals from over 150 different countries.
ForgeFX was proud to present our virtual reality (VR) industrial training simulators to as many of the 125,000+ attendees as possible. VR-based training simulators immerse users in virtual environments, and with virtual equipment, in ways traditional screen-based simulators cannot. The combination of stereoscopic 3D, positional tracking, head-tracking, hand tracking, and real-world controls delivers highly interactive and impactful simulators that prepare operators for real-world operation. The aerial boom lift simulator that we developed for JLG was a real crowd pleaser, located at the ForgeFX booth, the JLG booth and the Tech Experience pavilion.

JLG Immersive Trainer

In addition to demonstrating the aerial boom lift at our booth, JLG Industries had 2 instances of the simulator running at their booth. We networked these 2 simulation stations together and developed a fully interactive multi-user environment so that attendees could compete against each other in real-time for the best score, or collaborate to accomplish tasks together.

New Technology at ConExpo

JLG's virtual reality training simulator takes place on an actual boom platform complete with the controls that are used to operate the real-world equipment. Watch the first of JLG's daily recaps for a peek at their live demos, interactive exhibits and equipment advancements that will redefine the future of access.

Tech Experience

From solar-powered roadways, to the first-ever 3D printed excavator, to virtual reality training simulators, the Tech Experience at ConExpo 2017 was a 75,000 square foot immersive, future-forward showcase that allowed attendees to see what’s possible tomorrow, today.

Virtual Reality Simulators Enhance Equipment Operator Training - Virtual Reality Simulators Enhance Equipment Operator Training, by Sara Jensen, Managing Editor, OEM Off-Highway.

"As the costs of virtual reality (VR) hardware and software have decreased in recent years, the technology’s use within various industries has grown. The heavy equipment industry, for instance, sees the benefits it can provide, particularly to help provide training and improve safety on jobsites."

ForgeFX Simulations Exhibiting New VR Simulators at CONEXPO 2017

ForgeFX Simulations will be exhibiting their new Virtual Reality (VR) training simulators at CONEXPO 2017 in Las Vegas, March 7-11, Gold Hall Booth #G73420.

ForgeFX Simulations CONEXPO 2017

CONEXPO is a trade show for the construction industry that takes place every three years, showcasing the latest construction equipment, products, services and technologies. ForgeFX Simulations will be demonstrating two VR-based training simulators at CONEXPO this year, an aerial work platform operator training simulator developed for JLG Industries, and an aircraft deicing training simulator developed for Global Ground Support.

ForgeFX Simulations, Custom Virtual Training Simulations

ForgeFX's VR-based training simulators immerse trainees in a way traditional flat screen-based training simulators can't. Operators can instantly take advantage of head-tracking, which allows them to look all around in 360 degrees, just as they do in the real-world, allowing them to keep their hands on the real-world controls.

ForgeFX Simulations - Custom VR-Based Simulations

The simulators take advantage of hand-tracking cameras, so that users are able to interact with real-world and virtual controls within the simulator, providing a true mixed reality experience.

JLG Industries, Immersive Training Simulator

The JLG Immersive Training Simulator will located at three places at CONEXPO this year. Networked multi-player VR simulators will be available at JLG Industries, Gold Lot Booth #3946 and at the Tech Experience, Silver Lot 3. ForgeFX Simulations will also be hosting a single-player version of the JLG VR equipment training simulator. If you only have time to try out one demo at CONEXPO this year, be sure to make it the JLG Immersive Training Simulator — it's sure to be a hit!

Global Ground Support, Aircraft Deicing Training Simulation

The Global Ground Support Aircraft Deicing Training Simulation is a networked multi-user training simulator that supports the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display system. The simulator, which integrates real-world operator controls, takes advantage of hand-tracking technology and in-simulation virtual controls, to deliver a truly mixed-reality experience
